Santa Cruz-based Blix has just announced several new updates to its line of electric bicycles designed for a wide variety of riders and uses.
The updates are designed to help the bikes perform better with improved performance and range specifications, as well as several comfort improvements.
The news crowns a year of 300% growth for the company at a time when the e-bike industry as a whole has seen a massive surge in sales.
Now the company hopes to turn that growth into further success with its full line of updated 20 mph (32 km / h) Class 2 models.
The Blix Packa electric cargo bike was first launched in 2019 and is now getting its first major overhaul.
The cargo e-bike with a long tail has an extended rear seat / luggage rack for the transport of cargo or passengers.
According to Blix, the new Packa Genie model comes with a more powerful 750W motor with improved peak power and more torque for going uphill or taking off with a heavy load.
Bringing heavy loads to a stop may be more important than getting them rolling, and the new model will now come with more powerful hydraulic disc brakes.
The range has also been increased, with a dual-battery version of the Packa Genie with a range of 80 miles (130 km) from 1,228 Wh batteries. This is of course the area of pedal assistance. Don’t expect to go 80 miles just using the accelerator pedal.
Other additional details include a lighter frame, better stability, an additional trailer mount and two water bottle holders.
The Blix Packa Genie is priced at $ 1,699 for the single-battery model and $ 1,999 for the dual-battery model. The company appears to have set its sights on higher-priced e-cargo bikes and boasts that, starting at $ 1,699, the Packa Genie is one of the most competitive electric cargo bikes on the market and the only electric cargo bike with performance below $ 2,000 . “
Blix’s electric cruiser bikes are also getting new updates with the Sol Eclipse for $ 1,599.
Just like the Package Genie, the Sol Eclipse inherits a more powerful 750W motor for better mountaineering. It also gets bigger 2.4-inch tires for extra comfort.
The updated cruiser bike benefits from an additional front LED and comes in the new colors Seafoam, Sorbet, Slate Gray and Sky Blue.
On the foldable e-bike front, for $ 1,699, the new Blix Vika + Flex also gets those wider 2.4-inch tires, plus a new frame design to improve folding. It is available in Steel Blue, Burgundy, Racing Green and Nu Cream.
We checked an earlier version of the Vika. Also watch a video of the elegant folding e-bike in action.
The package is rounded off by the $ 1,699 Aveny Skyline with Dutch bike styling and wider 2.25-inch tires. We tested an earlier version of the Aveny and found it a real eye-catcher thanks to its elegant, slim design.
The step-through bike comes in the same colors as the Vika + Flex from Steel Blue, Burgundy, Racing Green and Nü Cream.
All four new models from Blix are available now and will be delivered directly to customers.
